            Belarusian State University is leading educational center in Belarus. It has a rich history of participation in USSR, Russia, Belarusian and international space programs. For examples, USSR Moon-22 project (antenna systems) ,USSR Venera-9 and Venera-10 project (antenna systems), USSR Buran-Energia project (testing systems), USSR Mir project (Interactive microprocessor-based video-spectrometric system), International Space Station (space remote sensing systems), Russian University satellite Tatiana-2 (receiving and processing data),the Belarusian Earth remote sensing space system (working within corporate network), Russian - Belarusian space programs (development of new materials, equipment and technologies).

In the last decade Belarusian space industry is developing dynamically. This is due to the launch of the first Belarusian remote sensing satellite and Belarusian –China communication satellite Belintersat-1 and successful operation of Belarusian space firms in the Russian and European markets. Participation in these projects requires the availability of highly qualified personnel.

            The Belarusian State University carries out training for Belarusian space industry. from the middle of the two thousandth's engineering faculties of our university were more concentrated in the fields of applied space technologies. In 2008 BSU aerospace educational center was established and from 2009 several educational programs in space areas were started special. For example “Aerospace radio electronics and information systems and technologies”, “Global space navigation systems” and “Onboard and ground information systems”.

         Great attention was paid to the development of the hard and software of education process including small spacecrafts. For example ground FM/UFM, S-band station based on BSU amateur station (eu1xx) has been developed. Student research laboratory for development of small satellites is working from 2010. Several student projects have been developed during this period. CanSat project is very helpful to promote research and engineering education in our country. A team of students from our university is being participating from 2011. The third and forth version of CanSat satellites developed by our students are launched to a height till 35 km. These version of satellites are multifunctional devices with developed orientation system (GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, pressure and temperature sensors) for monitoring of Earth surface, troposphere, stratosphere including panchromatic and multispectral images and several gas sensors. Student space satellite is the next step in development of aerospace education because it is real space research and educational lab.

            The Main mission goal of our project is to develop the first Belarusian University satellite and development and training of human resources. Belarusian State University satellite will be intended for solving applied, scientific and educational issues as well as training students of BSU and other universities in development new scientific experiments and equipments, control methods of spacecrafts and space information processing out.
            The important mission of project is hands-on education and training of students on a real spacecraft project. By participating in the project students gets involved in the complicated process of building a complex system like a satellite. This will help students to work together in small groups and, at the same time, coordinate their actions with other groups. International cooperation in real space project is also very important factor for our students and coworkers. Another educational tasks: system of distance education, laboratory practicum, web programming, analyze telemetry, data processing) will be also supported.

Next point is development of hardware and software for the management telemetry data. It will include: development of website – information portal about Cubesat (telemetry, technical info, downloads, etc) with sections telemetry of the satellite, the project team, project news, contacts, data storage (database of telemetry satellites), windows application (soft for transfer telemetry to data storage), software (telemetry analyzing and transfer data to website), sms server (notification alerts the network of amateur radio operators). So as a part of the project there will be established a distributed network of receiving and processing information of telemetry and payload equipment of BSU nanosatellite. The network will be organized based on the WEB portal. Universities - partners of the project, equipped with amateur radio transceiver stations will have a full access to the data obtained from with BSU nanosatellite. And the last but not least, the project itself is planned as a step in preparation for the launch and operation of nanosatellite group program (perhaps international) which includes university nanosatellites for testing management technology and series of research and educational experiments.

The developed technologies and systems used in the Republic of Belarus for monitoring ecological situation and climate changing at our territory based on satellite data will be presented. The remote sensing data obtained from space satellites as well as digital maps are used for these tasks.

The developed interactive and automatic image processing techniques will be presented.

We have long-term practical experience in creation of systems for integrated processing of remote sensing and map images. The following applied tasks have been solved with the help of these systems:

1. Discovery of fires on satellite images and the calculation of their coordinates on maps.

2. Evaluation of forest state to produce forest maps from satellite images (forest status monitoring). Classification of forest by wood species and age;

3. Pollution spreading forecasting on digital map taking into account atmospheric conditions (wind propagation and others);

4. Control of territory flooding and modeling of its dynamics;

5. Hazard (extreme) situation modeling;

6. Using remote sensing images for climate changing at our territory.

The practical systems for dealing with these and other tasks have been developed and used in organizations of Belarus. Practical results and systems will be shown.
